Family friendly, activity-filled adventures in Peru

This carefully designed itinerary will appeal to the whole family, taking in the many highlights of Peru through a range of activities from cycling, to kayaking, to walking and learn about Inca culture and traditions. Entering the Sacred Valley of the Incas we visit some of the enthralling citadels, fortresses and temple ruins that are found along the valley including the site at the wonderful Inca village of Ollantaytambo. We will explore the Sacred Valley by bike and on foot and will even visit a traditional Andean village where all inhabitants still wear their traditional and authentic clothing every day, not just for tourists. The highlight of our journey is the last section of the famous Classic Inca Trail and our time spent viewing and learning about the fascinating history of the lost city of Machu Picchu. In Cusco, the focus turns to history and culture as we enjoy day walks around the former Inca capital and we will even have to chance to make your own Andean flute and learn how to play it. We then fly across the Andes to the superb Amazonian rainforest, where we explore the jungle by foot and canoe from our lodge, whilst on the look out for monkeys, capybaras, caimans, hoatzin and many other exotic animals.
