Around Mt. Etna - Taormina and Ionian Sea Land of myths

A cycling tour up on the highest European volcano: the Etna. This is the mountain in whose blazing heart the ancient Greeks thought the ferocious giant Polifemo was living. According to the legend Polifemo the Cyclops trapped Ulisses and his crew. A cycling trip into the Sicilian inland, riding in open spaces with a wanderful panoramic view. A holiday between history and mythology that will drive you to the discovery of ancient villages and lost tastes. This tour of medium difficulty will drive you up to Taormina, the Ionic pearl, to the Medieval towns of Randazzo and Castiglione di Sicilia, to get, in the end, to the baroque nice little town of Acireale. The tour also enters nice wild parks: the splendid fluvial park of the Alcantara river, a valley that divides two wild parks: parco dell Etna and parco dei Nebrodi. Another nice chance to enjoy the wild Sicilian Nature will be the visit at Forre Laviche del Simeto wildlife park.
