The Golden Triangle (Short)

On this challenging bicycle trip, you will discover the fascinating "Golden Triangle" riding from Southern China to Lao's former imperial capital Luang Prabang. On the trip, you will experience untouched landscapes covered by tropical forest and a matchless density of ethnic minorites. On a typical day spent on the bike you will reach the destination in the afternoon, take a shower and then have the rest of the day to explore bustling markets or local buddhist temples together with your tour guide. A day of cycling will make you hungry - so you will surely want to try some of the dishes made from fresh regional vegetables in a one of the local restaurants! Our route will lead you from Jinghong, Chinas gate to South-East Asia at the Mekong to the Lao Border at Mohan. After a stay in a natural reserve in Luang Namtha, you will cycle to Muang Khua, take a little boat downstream the Nam Ou and then continue cycling to beautiful Luang Prabang. In a small group, you will cycle on paved roads through mostly mountainous terrain. Cycling experience is needed as some of the stages are longer than 100 km include longer climbs.
