Discover the 'land beyond the forest', home to thick forests, ancient aristocratic families and gorgeous lost-in-time villages

Our guided tour will take you to the land of the Transylvanian manors to discover the architecture and life of Middle Age in this area. Castles, manors and fortified churches scattered across scenic villages and unspoiled nature are all awaiting to be discovered in Covasna County at just a two-hour and a half drive from Bucharest. Old aristocratic manors are restored as guesthouses with high comfort. Ancient craft workshops are available for visits. Spectacular landscapes with local flora and fauna are waiting to be discovered.

Far from the crowded routes, on hilly terrain and on unpaved country trails, you will experience wonderful cycling days mixed with an extraordinary culinary and cultural experience.

Venture deeper, and the county promises travellers the full experience of living history and traditions, and of plenty of peace and tranquility. There is a sense of living history and enduring traditions that give the traveller the reassuring feeling that time can, at least sometimes, slow down.

Altough there are over 200 castles in the area, only a few have been preserved or developed. Szentkereszty Castle in Arcus, the Mikes-Szentkereszty Castle in Zagon or the Damokos-Gyula Castle in Cernat, function as cultural centers or museums. Others, such as the Mikes Castle in Zabala, the Benke manor in Moacsa and the Daniel Castle in Talisoara, have been turned into luxury hotels and you will have the chance to experience them.
