From Union Square, take bike-friendly Market Street over to 'The Wiggle,' a flat bike route to Golden Gate Park that is very popular with local cyclists.

On the way, you'll pass Alamo Square where you can check out the historic Victorian 'Painted Ladies' houses, then detour over to the Haight-Ashbury district to say hello to the hippies! Cruise through Golden Gate Park and over to Ocean Beach for astonishing views of the Pacific Ocean.

When you're ready to continue the adventure, ride north through the Presidio until you reach the iconic Golden Gate Bridge! You'll cross the bridge on the sidewalk with stunning views of the city and bay, followed by a 10 minute downhill ride taking you right into the charming bayside town of Sausalito. Once there, most people choose to grab a bite to eat, relax, shop and enjoy Sausalito's famously wonderful weather before putting their bikes on a ferry boat and returning to San Francisco.
