A unique and affordable summer high altitude trek

The area, Sierra Nevada, Andalucia, Spain, offers superb biking, including tough climbs and long descents, miles of technical singletrack, as well as more gentle trails. We use our unrivalled local knowledge to provide a customised holiday based on what you want - with a emphasis on cross country riding, rather than the sort of riding that requires body armour and full face helmets. We also try and give our clients a feel for the area in terms of natural environment, history and culture.

Cycling at this altitude means we can avoid the worst of the heat and has the additional advantage of raising your red blood cell count, and therefore your fitness levels.

The majority of the rides will be at over 2000 metres altitude, culminating in a ride to the top of Pico Veleta - mainland Spain’s second highest mountain at 3400 metres (10,300 feet) - and a 3100metre (10,300 ft.) descent to Orgiva.

We will spend 2 nights at the Refugio Poqueira at 2,500 metres. This a very comfortable refiugo, with bar, restaurant, reading room, kitchen and sun terraces, with dormitory type bedrooms - a fantastic place to stay. The other nights will be spent at our base in Orgiva.
