Roxburgh Gorge World of Difference

This wonderful 1 day cycle trip will blow you away with it's magnificent scenery in the spectacular Roxburgh Gorge.

This trail is not without it's challenges but believe us every bit of effort is paid back in double by the awe inspiring scenery and amazing schist rock formations that you will encounter.

We recommend that on your cycle from Clyde to Alexandra you use the Centennial River Track which follows the mighty Clutha River through the shaded, willow tree lined cycle/walking trail. A highlight for many of our Rail Trail customers, this trail is certainly worth the extra 8 km's of biking to get to Alexandra. There are many cafes at Alexandra for a quick coffee before heading into the Roxburgh Gorge..

Once you are in the Gorge you will realise how fortunate you are and you had better watch the trail for fear of ending up in the river while admiring the wonderful scenery. You will pass the relics of the Gold Miners who flocked to the area to make their fotunes (not many did). Arrive in time to catch the Jet Boat from Doctors Point through to Shingle Creek and sit back and enjoy the expert commentary . 45 minutes later you are at Shingle Creek jetty and disembark to carry on your journey to Roxburgh Hydro where you will be met by one of Trail Journeys vans. Alternatively you could arrange before you leave to carry on to Roxburgh township for an extra 7km cycling and we can pick you up from there.
