Follow in the footsteps of the flower children and cycle into a physical and spiritual kaleidoscope that is India

"Turn on, tune in, Drop out" It was 1967 - the Summer of Love - and Timothy Leary had this advice for his young followers at the Human Be-In taking place in San Francisco. War was raging in SE Asia, the Civil Rights Movement was spreading throughout the USA, the Cold War was at its height and all around the world young people were looking for a new approach to life. The hippies of the 1960's and '70's headed to India in the hopes of gaining a new spiritual understanding, of undergoing new experiences, of seeing their world in a new light. We feel confident in saying that if you join us cycling physical and spiritual kaleidoscope that is the Hippie Trail, you will do just that.

The trip begins at the world’s greatest symbol of love, the Taj Mahal, where riders will hop on their bikes and head out into the desert Kingdom of Rajasthan. The route passe through some of the region’s famous cities – Puskar, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur – and the cyclists will bed down for the night in converted forts, palaces and heritage hotels. The road now turns south towards the architectural wonders of Mandu and the incredible Buddhist and Hindu temple complexes at Ellora and Ajanta before bringing the riders into the bustling metropolis of Mumbai. The last stage takes the cyclists along the beautiful but little known Konkan Coast, eventually finishing on the golden sand beaches of Goa.
