Best of the West

As with our Connemara tour it starts and finishes in Galway, takes in the stunning Killary Harbour, Dephi Valley and Westport town. However from Westport we head North to the remote beauty of Achill Island along a wonderful dedicated 47km cycle route. The tour finishes up in the wonderful Country Life Museum near Castlebar before taking a transfer back to Galway. The distance on this tour is low and is perfect for a couple where one would rather cycle more than another as this can be easily accommodated. 

The Best of the West begins and ends in Galway City. Affectionately known as the City of the Tribes, Galway is a University town, full of life and color. It is also small enough to get around on foot. Galway is renowned for it’s of great pubs, restaurants, and live music around every corner. After leaving Galway, the tour continues out to Killary Harbor (Ireland’s only fjord), and from there to the Heritage town of Westport, Co Mayo. Westport is another great town on the Wild Atlantic Way which also has great music, pubs and restaurants.
