Provence not only has an easy way of life, but it’s also one of the richest cultural regions in Europe. Numerous monuments testify to a long and great past since the Greek and Roman period going to the middle Ages and, even into the last centuries. Highlights of this tour include Avignon: the famous Pope’s Palace (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the medieval town and its imposing wall; St. Rémy de Provence: in the heart of the Provence, has the best conserved Roman monuments at Les Antiques and Glanum, an ancient Greek town created 500 years before Christ.; Les Baux de Provence: a medieval hill top village in the Alpilles; Arles: where the whole city has been classified as a UNESCO world heritage site because of its numerous Roman and medieval monuments. Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer: a little village between the sea, the sky and the Camargue (nature reserve), the great delta of the Rhone river, where water, channels and lakes of varying degrees of salinity attract thousands of birds - some of them are very rare; it’s also known for its white horses and the black bulls; St. Gilles: possesses a beautiful Romanesque church with crypt (UNESCO world heritage); Uzès and lastly the Pont du Gard: aqueduct over the Gardon river, the best conserved from the Roman Empire.
