Karnataka in 14 days
This 14 day Karnataka cycling tour takes us from the cosmopolitan city of Bangalore to the sunny beaches of Goa. A stunning introduction to southern India. Karnataka a state loaded with a blend of urban cool, glittering palaces, national parks, ancient ruins and beaches.
Bangalore is a progressive city famous for its craft beer and restaurant scene. Next up is the splendor of the Mysore Palace. The historic settlement of Mysore is one of South India's most enchanting cities. Famous for its glittering royal heritage and magnificent monuments and buildings. Heading out of Mysore we encounter the evergreen rolling hills of Coorg. A magical experience cycling through the spice and coffee plantations. We discover the ancient cities of Belur & Halebidu of the Hoysala dynasty. Riding through the western ghats we stay at a forest guest house by the Bhadra Dam. The jungles of the western ghats are teeming with wild life. Karnataka has one of Asia's largest elephant population. Before we head down to the coast line we get a glimpse of India's highest waterfall at Jog. Our last destination in Karnataka the untouched coastline around Gokarna. Blessed with stunning coves and empty sands.
This sets us up nicely for sunny Goa. The former Portuguese colony is full of excitement. Spend the day hanging around by the beach or cruise through the green countryside. Follow it up with the evening ritual of watching the sun melt into the Arabian Sea with a cold beer and a plate of spicy prawns.
