4 star hotel. Visiting D Day beaches, Omaha, Juno, Gold, Sword, Point du Roc, Arromanches, Pegasus Bridge and the Atlantic Wall Bunker, the mediaeval town of Bayeux famous for its Tapestry and old buildings. Visit to a Cider and Calvados tasting farm. Plenty of time to see the monuments, easy pace, and tandems welcome. This is the 70th Anniversary year of the D Day Landings and a visit to the new Overlord Museum opened in June last year is planned, at Point du Roc you can see where 200 American marines climbed the cliffs to take out the German gun post and the beach where Saving Private Ryan was made. In Arromanches the remains of the Mulberry Harbour constructed in England for the invasion can be seen, the return to the ferry will be via Pegasus Bridge and the Atlantic Wall Bunker time has been allowed to visit both sites. No visit to Normandy would be complete without a visit to Bayeux to see the famous Bayeux Tapestry and the town has many medieval half-timbered buildings typical of the area. And to round off the tour a Cider and Calvados tasting is planned at a local orchard.
