Chapada Diamantina, embedded in the heart of Bahia, has its history marked by treasures. The diamond cycle - extracted from the region since the 19th century. XIX, source of wealth for the colonels and toil for the slaves - polished a peculiar culture that survived the decline of its exploitation. More than half of the original diamond is still there under the ground, which explains the region's special energy.
But the jewels that shine the most are nature - through its mountains, waterfalls, caves and wells - and people, who with a broad smile, fascinating stories and very special cuisine receive and welcome visitors.
