Cáceres Bike Adventure

We will have the opportunity to visit the rich mining heritage of the surroundings of the city, the routes that many miners made in the transition from the nineteenth century to the twentieth century in the mining area of ​​Cáceres, linked to the extraction of phosphorite. We will visit the remains of ancient emblematic mines such as 'La Abundancia', 'La Esmeralda', 'San Salvador', or 'María Estuardo'.

From here we go to the Natural Monument of the Barruecos, a spectacular natural creation to which also the human being has contributed. A space of flattened relief, dotted with ponds and huge granite domes that make up this suggestive and unique landscape.

Declared a Natural Monument for its beauty, the originality of the Los Barruecos landscape is due to its granite formations that water and other erosive agents have been responsible for modelling. The whimsical shapes of these domes invite you to let the imagination fly to glimpse the figure of animals, objects or even people.

We finish the itinerary returning to Cáceres and making a tour of the old town of Cáceres, which has won several awards for the monumentality of its heritage, in fact, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986. Among its Arab walls, it preserves the second largest cistern in the world, a Jewish quarter, the remains of the first Roman settlements and a unique and perfectly preserved Medieval and Renaissance architectural ensemble.
