Almeria Bike Tours

Col de Tourmalet, Col de Marie Blanque, Col d'Aubisque, Col de Pierre San Martin, ... it lined up big names, each one has its own character, is a sporting challenge and surprised us by getting new fascinating mountain landscape.

Our tour starts at the Atlantic Ocean in the hilly Basque country, then continues through the central Pyrenees and ends in Catalonia on the Mediterranean coast.

On minor roads through the wild Andalusian countryside. We cross the Alpujarras in the footsteps of the Moors on the south side of Sierra Nevada.

In Granada we decide by ourselves if we prefer a rest day in the town and visit the famous Alhambra or rather climb with our bike up to the Pico de Veleta.

Between Mediterranean Sea and Sierra Nevada innumerable single trails can be found in the area around Almeria.

In the mountains of Sierra Alhamilla and Sierra de Gador you will ride through pine forests and arid secluded scenery on narrow paths with difficulty S1 and S2 (few places S3).

You will cross the desert area of Tabernas on Ramblas, which are sandy, dry riverbeds and nice flow trails. Here many films have been shot, including "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" and westerns such as "A Fistful of Dollars" by Sergio Leone,

A day trip takes you to the coast of the Cabo de Gata Natural Park, where you will find enchanting bays and challenging trails on volcanic rocks of various colors.

Based on the Bike Station, we explore the surrounding sierras, the coast of Cabo de Gata and the desert area of El Desierto..

In the province of Almeria there are a lot of small roads with good surface. In February you can enjoy pleasant temperatures to complete the first training miles. Ideal for cyclists who want to enjoy in a small group the diverse landscapes of eastern Andalusia.

When snow conditions allow, the highest mountain in the Sierra Nevada and the Iberian peninsula (Mulhacen 3482m) can be ascended. From Granada to Almeria you will cycle across the Sierra Nevada and through diverse picturesque landscapes and vegetation.

On gravel roads and trails we explore the solitary mountains and valleys of the Sierra Nevada.

When snow conditions allow, the highest mountain in the Sierra Nevada and the Iberian peninsula (Mulhacen 3482m) can be ascended. From Granada to Almeria you will cycle across the Sierra Nevada and through diverse picturesque landscapes and vegetation.

After 2 days of biking along the coast in the Natural Park Cabo de Gata (one of the most beautiful coastlines on all Spanish Mediterranean coast), we will have a break day to enjoy mediterranean sun.

Then begins the three-day round trip over the Sierra Nevada and back to Almeria.
