Day 1 Welcome: Pick up and transfer to Banpotoc 60 Lodge
We pick you up from Sibiu airport or Simeria train station and transfer you to Banpotoc 60 Lodge. We then do bike fitting and briefing. You can take a short warm up ride to Simeria (about 14km return) if you wish (lunch – if you arrive early – and dinner).

Day 2 The Rustic Village of Sacaramb: Banpotoc to Sacaramb then through the forest and back; 50km, 1,000m ascent
We start on tarmac as we climb up to Sacaramb and then join old forestry roads. We stop for a picnic and refreshing drink at Gerrard’s rustic museum in Sacaramb before we begin our descent through the forest and return to Banpotoc (breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner).

Day 3 7th Century Church, Dinosaurs and Glacier Lakes: Hateg to Ulpia Traiana Sarmisegetusa and back to Hateg; 62km, 900m ascent
We transfer by van from Banpotoc to Hateg (about 40km) where we begin our ride. We pass through Densus, where we will see the 7th Century Densus Church and then on to the Retezat National Park and Dinosaur Geopark, a protected natural area containing 60 peaks over 2,000 metres and over 100 crystal clear deep glacier lakes (breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner).

Day 4 2nd Century Capital of the Dacians: Orastie to Sarmisegetusa and back; 77km, 1,100m ascent
We transfer by van from Banpotoc to Orastie ( about 25km) before beginning our ride. We cycle through Costesti en route to Sarmizegetusa Regia, which was the capital and the most important military, religious and political centre of the Dacians. You have the option of also riding from Banpotoc to Orastie one way or both. This would add 25 – 50km (breakfast, picnic lunch, you are free to explore Banpotoc and area on your own for dinner tonight).

Day 5 Medieval Fortress of Deva: Banpotoc to Deva and the Bejan Forest and back; 59km, 1,000m ascent
We leave Banpotoc and cycle through Simeria to Deva. We then climb the hills surrounding Deva to the Medieval Fortress. Built in the second half of the 13th century, it also has access via gondola, which starts near the Gymnastics school of Deva, where Nadia Comaneci and other famous athletes were were trained. We cycle back to Banpotoc before returning to Deva by van for dinner and a night out (breakfast, lunch, dinner in Deva).

Day 6 Hunedoara Castle: Banpotoc to Hunedoara to Ghelari and back; 98km, 1,100m ascent
We leave Banpotoc and ride to Hunedoara Castle, also known as Corvin Castle. It is a Gothic- Renaissance castle built in 1446. Vlad Dracul, the historical role model for Count Dracula was imprisoned here. We then cycle as far as Ghelari before returning to Banpotoc (breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner).

Day 7 An Old Mine Site: Banpotoc to Craciunesti village and back; 61km, 900m ascent
We leave Banpotoc and cycle through rural villages to Craciunesti where we will enjoy some local cuisine with the Cionte family. Along the route we will pass an old mine site and enjoy the panorama of the Poiana Rusca mountains (breakfast, local cuisine for lunch, end of tour dinner and party).

Day 8 Bon Voyage
After breakfast we will transfer you to the airport in Sibiu or the train station in Simeria for your next adventure.
