A Long Way to the Rock Ride

From Goolwa to Uluru

20 Days Moderate 1775 KmAVG 110 Km

This leg leaves the mouth of the Murray River at Goolwa and skirting the hills of Adelaide before heading into the Outback at Port Augusta and on into the Red Centre and to end at Uluru (previously known as Ayers Rock). This is a trip with some quite different elements. For a few days we will be rolling through hill country and vineyards before crossing the ranges to reach the sea again at Port Augusta. From there we will be heading into true outback. From here the journey is into the Red Centre with cattle stations becoming larger. The leg ends at Uluru - not the largest monolith in Australia but certainly the most remarkable as it rises in all its redness from the plain and towers above all around.
