You will see many ancient sites around the city including Wat Phra That Chedi Luang, city wall and city moat.
After a short safety briefing and personalized bicycle fitting, we will start cycling around Chiangsaen the ancient city. Where you will see many ancient sites around the city including Wat Phra That Chedi Luang, city wall and city moat. After that we will leave the ancient city by back road to Golden Triangle area where the three countries of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar come together. On the way you will experience real local lifestyle and countryside that the other tourist has never seen. We will visit House of Opium (Opium museum) and learn about the history of opium trade that led to the area being called the Golden Triangle. After that we will continue cycling through some small gently rolling hills of the countryside and pass many of rice fiends, cassava and pineapple plantations. We will have a nice lunch at the local restaurant on the way. We will stop and visit The Biggest bamboo woven Buddha image in the world. After that we will continue cycle along the countryside where you can see a beautiful mountain rage that separates Thailand and Myanmar.
Cycling tour will be finished at Maesai; the Northern most point in Thailand. After that we will spend time looking at all of the goods imported from Myanmar and China (including jade and other gemstones). Those interested in purchasing goods will enjoy the opportunity to bargain with the local merchants. If the time allows, we will walk up Naga staircase to the Scorpion Mountain temple to see a beautiful view of Thai and Myanmar border town. After enjoy looking around border town already our covered pick up truck will transfer you back to your hotel.
