Famous for its mild climate and its excellent wines, the valley is an ideal region for eventful bike tours. Along the way you will encounter historic villages, impressive castles and fortresses that transport visitors back to past times.
Start your cycle holidays from Metz, whose historic fortification invites visitors to take a stroll enjoying wonderful views. Your bike tour will follow the river to the tri-border region of Germany, France and Belgium. In Perl the cycle path becomes even more excellent and well-signposted. Passing beautiful wine-growing villages with timber-framed houses, you will soon reach the Roman town Trier. Continuing the tour, historic cities like Traben-Trarbach, Bernkastel-Kues and Cochem will greet you on your way to Koblenz.
