We have cherry-picked what we think are the best mountain biking routes the Cape has to offer and put together 2 dynamic 3-day trips guaranteed to offer FUN, EXCITEMENT, CHALLENGE & COMRADERIE.

The aim of the tour is to provide a very comprehensive base training for the Cape Argus Cycle Tour in March. It has been found that up to 170 kms per day over 5 days at a medium to easy pace works best - then afterwards to move high intensity training and racing in order to peak for the Argus. For this reason, there is sufficient seating & cycle carrying capacity to portage sections of the route should the distances be too daunting. Mostly, the Build Up is about spending 5 days riding through some of the most scenic parts of the world with a group of like-minded people enjoying the freedom & exhilaration of cycling.

Where do the two oceans meet? And why is it called "the Cape of Good Hope"? Join us on a journey of discovery as we explore the splendour of the Cape Peninsula in Cape Town. We follow the Atlantic Seaboard, past Clifton & Camps Bay, to the fishing hamlet of Hout Bay for an optional boat cruise to Duiker Island to experience thousands of Cape Fur Seals in their natural habitat (own account). We continue along the scenic Chapman's Peak Drive to Simon's Town to meet up with a colony of rare Jackass Penguins at Boulders Beach.

Escape to the pristine Cederberg Wilderness area for 4 days of awesome riding, amazing scenery and plenty of fireside cheer!

Day Trippers will again be offering 4 days of excellent training, incorporating key stretches of the Absa Cape epic.

We cycle the trails of the Constantiaberg Mountains with stunning views across the Southern Suburbs to The Hottentots Holland Mountains and beyond. We cool off afterwards with drinks and snacks in the shade of the forest - probably the Peninsula's finest off-road trail and a MUST for mountain biking enthusiasts. Includes some excellent single track - suitable for more experienced riders.

We begin with an warm- up ride on the tar along Table mountain road, then go off-road along a dirt track and up to the King's Block House for sweeping views across the city and the Southern Suburbs. We then cycle downhill to the imposing Rhodes Memorial, where you can choose to enjoy some refreshments in the beautifully situated tea garden, before heading back via Deer Park with some exhilarating downhills and a few challenging climbs back to the bus - suitable for beginners. & experienced riders.
