In this region there is a great diversity of settings, history, experiences, towns, villages, hamlets and landscapes to be encountered. This diversity is what you’ll experience on a route which weaves together the rugged, mountainous terrain of the interior with that of the contrasting Mediterranean coastal plain.

A considerable part of this route takes in the famous and tranquil, green pathway that winds its way to the sea. You’ll pedal your way past fields, groves of fruit trees, vineyards and natural enclaves of exceptional beauty. In the first part of the route you’ll discover small villages of mediaeval and Arab origin because ownership of this territory was in dispute by warring Christian monarchs and Islamic caliphs for many years.

After visiting the historic city of Alcoi, a track that goes through a magnificent gorge will take you to the coast where you’ll come across a totally different landscape which includes citrus plantations and marshlands, not to mention exceptional views out to sea. You enter the lush plain of orange groves and market gardens known as la huerta valenciana. You pedal alongside the River Xúquer and make your way to the natural reserve known as the Parque Natural de la Albufera, which is of enormous ecological value. You finish your ever-changing journey in the city of Valencia and explore the impressive old quarter with its cathedral and central market – indeed, a cathedral of a market! Not to be missed are the narrow streets and squares that offer so many kinds of cafés, bars and restaurants. Lovers of good food will be delighted with what’s on offer there.

This trip will surprise you with the unique landscapes that you will travel through, immersed in the tranquility that the Ojos Negros greenway, the longest in Spain transmits. It starts in Albarracín, one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, from here you start cycling through the Pinares de Rodeno Natural Reserve and you will have the opportunity to visit the prehistoric rock art. You will visit Teruel, a romantic city of Mudejar art and you will slide down the green route, visiting small villages full of tradition, history and exquisite gastronomy. You will arrive at the city of Sagunto where you will be able to visit its famous Roman theatre. You will cross the Valencian orchards to finish our trip in the city of Valencia with its interesting historical center, its cathedral, central market and a network of narrow streets that hide a great variety of cafes and restaurants where you can taste the local cuisine.

This is an idyllic place to travel by bike where the sun and beach landscapes join with the Alicante mountains to create a fantastic contrast in scenery. You will visit the most picturesque towns on the Mediterranean coast and its seafront with the beautiful terraces close to the beach where you will be able to try the traditional foods of the area. You will pass through ancient Roman towns close to the beach, you will see typical traditional buildings with rows of arches linked with the successful business of wine-making. You will ride along fantastic beaches and you will be delighted by the friendly nature of the locals. A mixture of tradition, culture, landscape, cuisine and people who will be hard to forget.
