Annapurna Fun Ride

Relaxing Himalayan ride downhill from high alpine meadows to lowland jungle

10 Days Moderate 90 KmAVG 18 Km Blog Reviews

IMA Muktinath Fun Bike Ride tour has been designed for busy professional as a quick getaway from demanding job and daily routine for a simple active relaxation to recharge for next bout of work and to get inspired by incredible scenery in the heart of Himalayas.

IMA offers 16 departures per year including some women tours only. Nepal is a conservative country but is also multicultural and tolerant with gay rights protected by law and all our trips including Fun Ride welcome and encourage LGBT community to healthy lifestyle, exercise and Himalayan adventure.

The tour starts with a flight to Jomsom (2800m) along the Kali Gandaki Valley, which cuts the deepest valley on Earth between two 8000m giants, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. We will visit Tibetan Buddhist villages of Chhongkhar, Jharkot, Kagbeni and Marpha with a look and feel of the life like centuries ago with its monasteries and Muktinath Hindu temple complex still resonating today with many gurus and Sadus finding their solace and purpose here, and pilgrims taking ritual bath in temple's pools.

We supply new quality 29” mountain bikes for a smooth ride ensuring relaxing but energizing biketour. The ride suits a wide range of skills from the beginners to technical riders with an amazing single trek through Lupra La pass via Jimmy Hendrix Spur and Kiwi Spur. The ride along a stunning ridge ride offers extraordinary Himalayan vistas. This short adventure is designed for total care free ride from the time we welcome you to Kathmandu.

The trip is an enriching cultural experience of enchanting Buddhist cultures within Tibetan style villages. Charming, welcoming people, whose traditions have not changed much for over centuries, will give you a riding experience at high altitude not available anywhere else in the world. The tour is operated by young Tibetans and Sherpas enhancing Buddhist aspects and character of the tour.

There is one day where we scheduled 900m uphill ride over 12 km but we also offer jeep ride up option for people preferring pure downhill.

Muktinath Fun Ride was incredible. A trip of a lifetime in many respects though I would do it all again. The culture, scenery, food, geology, geography all mind blowing. Our leader was very knowledgeable and attention to detail excellent. Well planned and ample rest times as well as time to see places of interest on the way. Next time I would pack a light sleeping bag too.

Muktinath Bike Ride is an amazing physical and cultural adventure in Annapurna area with stunning views, 3000m downhill, visiting Buddhist monasteries, significant Temple complex of Muktinath where Hindu and Buddhist religions coexist in perfect agreement and harmony and the place visited by Jimmy Hendrix in 1967. The trip is a life changing adventure
