Description

On its way from the Franconian Mountains to the Danube, the Altmühl flows through magnificent regions. Cycling through medieval cities, which still bear the seal of the Romans, and past castles, we are witness to the rich and eventful past of Altmühltal Valley. On your journey you also visit Straubing, the heart of the Gäuboden landscape. From Deggendorf, the portal to the Bavarian Forest, it is not far to Passau, which is often referred to as 'Venice of the North'.
